Description
Ara is an upholstery fabric from Kvadrat that was released in 2022. It is a sparkling upholstery fabric designed by Margrethe Odgaard. Characteristic of her work are the innovative mixed color expressions, which can also be found in this series in the subtle speckles that are spread over the fabric like a clear starry sky.
Margrethe Odgaard found the inspiration for the color palette of Ara in tropical birds, which are known for their bright colours.
Normally, color differences are often created by creating colored fibers within the yarn. A special feature of Ara is that the dots are woven with colored jacquard on the plain background.
Ara is woven from wool with a pinch of nylon. This makes the fabric wear-resistant, lightfast in combination with the natural flame-retardant characteristics of wool. This beautiful, warmly colored upholstery fabric comes in 8 colours.
